 Vitiligo is a condition in which the pigment of the skin cells gets destroyed in certain areas. Symptoms of Vitiligo include the change in skin colour or appearance of the white patch on the body. It can be confined to one area or it may affect the other parts of the body.

Causes of Vitiligo are unknown but the majority of the doctors believe that it is an autoimmune condition in which the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys certain cells within the body.

Skin grafting:

This procedure is mostly performed on the patients having Vitiligo patches. In this procedure, the surgeon collects the small portion of normal, pigmented skin and attaches them to pigment lost area.

Blister grafting: In this procedure, the surgeon creates blisters on your pigmented skin, usually with suction. He or she then removes the tops of the blisters and transplants them to an area of discoloured skin.

Tattooing (micro pigmentation): In this technique, the surgeon uses a special surgical instrument to implant pigment into the skin. It's most effective in and around the lips in people with darker complexions.
